Growing up on the Central Coast of California, Third Grade Teacher Nikki Meenzhuber appreciates the tight knit ‘ohana and aloha spirit here at Maui Preparatory Academy. Nikki was educated in a small school environment that fostered strong academics paired with creativity, had strong parent support and was filled with amazingly talented and caring teachers. As a result of this environment, she fell in love with school and learning at a very early age.
As an undergraduate at the University of California Santa Barbara, Nikki studied Liberal Arts and received a B.A. in Sociology. Always knowing that she loved kids and wanted to be a teacher, Nikki attended Chapman University where she earned her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. After she started teaching full time, Nikki went back to Chapman to pursue her Master’s Degree in Education with a Curriculum and Instruction focus.
In her free time, you can probably find Nikki at her favorite place on earth, the beach. She enjoys all things to do with the sea: shell hunting, swimming, snorkeling, surfing, sailing, and, especially, relaxing on the sand with a book in hand. She also loves to travel, exercise, read, cook, garden, dance hula, make jewelry, and spend time with her family and friends.
